Our Beacon programme harnesses the achievements of employers who have made a commitment to tackling domestic abuse, by shining a light on EIDA’s mission, which is to ensure that all UK employers take action on domestic abuse.

Beacons are amongst our most prominent advocates. They are leading culture change among UK employers by influencing and inspiring other employers to make a difference to people's lives by raising awareness of domestic abuse and supporting their employees who are impacted by it.

Beacons receive:

  • Dedicated and personalised support from the EIDA team
  • Bespoke opportunities to meet with matched member organisations to share best practice and learnings
  • The chance to share their work on domestic abuse with almost 1,700 EIDA employer members
  • Their logo on the EIDA website (should they wish to be recognised)
  • Press and media support for their activities
  • Networking with our exclusive group of Beacon members through regular events and round table discussions

EIDA is a charity, run by a small team. The financial contribution offered by our generous Beacons allows us to support more employers to do more to tackle domestic abuse in their organisations.

Become an EIDA Beacon and help us to create change by playing a leading role in improving how employers take action on domestic abuse. Contact us today for more details.

Our Beacon Members

AMAZON - LUCY BAKER, HR REGIONAL PARTNER:

"Amazon is committed to putting the safety of the workforce at the forefront of all practices, promoting and fostering a supportive and healthy working environment. We aim to raise awareness of domestic abuse, support our employees who may be experiencing violence, as well as providing them with the expert help they may need when it comes to their well-being.

Abuse does not discriminate and to champion inclusivity, we plan to break the taboo of victim stereotyping in order to encourage psychological safety in the workplace, and give all people who may be affected the reassurance and confidence to reach out for help or advice.

In addition, Amazon is taking care to train our leaders and future leaders in recognising the signs of abuse as well as equipping them to share empathetic and humanistic approaches for each individual's situation. Delivering on this means we are partnering and learning from organisations who share our people-focused priorities, and we are thrilled to be a Beacon member of EIDA."

bp - MARLEECE ESTELLA, SENIOR VP HEALTH & WELLBEING:

"Bp’s Health & Wellbeing team is committed to creating safe and healthy working environments that not only support, but enhance health and wellbeing. We want to enable our bp colleagues to live their best lifetime.

To deliver on this, we develop partnerships with entities who share our vision and strategic priorities, and are delighted to become a beacon member of Employers’ Initiative on Domestic Abuse (EIDA)."

COLLINSON - CHRISTOPHER EVANS, JOINT CEO:

“With domestic violence on the rise during COVID-19, and the boundaries between work and home increasingly blurred, it has never been more important for companies to offer their employees tools and support that can be a lifeline for those in need. Companies are only part of the solution, but we all know that taking a public stand on issues such as domestic abuse helps to raise awareness and reduce stigma. This is why we hope every company will join us in creating a corporate bulwark against domestic violence.”

GOLDMAN SACHS INTERNATIONAL - DERMOT MCDONOGH, COO:

“We owe it to all of our people to provide a safe and supportive environment. Equally, as we start this important journey to educate and inform and to raise awareness, we want to give our support to this issue so those affected in our communities can have the courage to take action. We look forward to working with EIDA and bringing energy and commitment to our role as a Beacon.”

GOOGLE - GURDIP RAI, EMEA PROGRAM LEAD, WORKPLACE VIOLENCE PREVENTION:

"Google is pleased to be joining peer organizations in our joint mission to create greater awareness of domestic violence in the workplace. We know this partnership will create meaningful opportunities to support our organization's commitment to providing a safe, secure and supportive work environment for our employees.

Google has a dedicated program for workplace violence prevention, housing a plethora of resources. This includes but is not limited to access to bespoke safety mitigation strategies such as support with temporary accommodations, safety planning, and security devices. These amazing resources alongside training and guidance to our managers, HR, legal, and security teams help us make sure that we are doing our best to help victims of domestic violence.

We pride ourselves in highlighting the difficult issues that may concern our employees, and advocate for ways in which we can normalize discussions of abuse. Our goal is to promote and build upon the great work our team is doing in this space and we know that EIDA is an important step in that direction."
